I'm beginning to think my resume is irrelevant. I need to get with someone on making it better. I have so many gaps in employment on there. I always have jobs in those gaps, but a bunch of bullshit jobs in between CAD jobs just looks silly to me. Almost a year at times. And considering I haven't had a solid job lead in years, means I need a different approach to finding a job. Not many references either, some jobs I've quit or left on bad terms, mostly these pizza places and some dead-end staffing company failures. Maybe I should look out of the state for a job. But, I know I won't do that, because I've moved just within MI for a job and that was a disaster. I just know if I go back to running pizzas I'll lose my mind. | | 4:13 pm |
Beginning to think sites like Monster.com are just scam's 100%. Never had even a remote job lead through it, and whenever someone contacts me for an interview, they always 'can't say more over the phone' and ends up being one of those places that 'sell insurance'. Ail, Primerica, those companies. All scam. Monster and Careerbuilder ALWAYS have the SAME jobs. Seriously, CAD jobs I've applied to years ago are still offered. So it just appears it's a front for scams. Better just stick to MI Works, and other trustworthy sites. If I get another one of these scam interview calls, I might just go just to tear the place apart, and let them know how much I hate people wasting my time. When someone from a place calls, that has NOTHING to do with CAD or engineering, and says 'We found your resume online and you would fit a position in our company' or something similar, do they actually think I'll sign up? Land surveying and selling bullshit insurance is connected how? I can tell just from the tone of voice and the way they talk, before they even tell me what they're calling for I already know what's up. Not in a good mood with this bullshit. Finding a job is truly the hardest job out there. | | Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 | | 1:42 am |

Wow, the first track off Rotersand's new album sounds like Pink Floyd. Seriously awesome. EDIT: This is one of the best produced albums in the synth/etc genre. They are really raising the bar on this record. Current Mood: tiredCurrent Music: Rotersand - Yes We Care | | Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 | | 11:35 pm |

stuff
So I got a call from Michigan Works the other day. I am eligible for their 'No Worker Left Behind' program, which is funding for 2 years of college. I also got a reply from FAFSA, I will more than likely be able to receive more than $5k from them. Nice. So if one falls through I should have the other. Excited to get back to school. Not 100% sure on what I'm taking, not too sure the hot industries right now, but CAD & surveying stuff is what I'm good at, so I would like to stay around the civil engineering/survey/etc stuff. Maybe even get into the GIS side of things. I don't start till January so I'll have time to decide. Also, to those interested in the old toys I posted about a while back, still going to list those on here, there's still more that isn't uncovered, so I might just put up what there is so far. The MOTU stuff is selling like crazy on ebay. Watched Zombieland. Awesome movie!! Need to get that when it comes out. Going to watch GI Joe tonight. High Level Static Anyone remember High Level Static?? Their debut album, I believe released in 2003, was awesome. Their was talk of a second, but I can't find it, or any news at all. Anyone know what's up with them? | | Saturday, October 17th, 2009 | | 8:35 pm |
Lots of new music lately, its about time the underground industrial/electro/insertnewsubgenrehere/e tc community is kicking out quality music. Or maybe I just wasn't paying attention/in the mood for it. Anyway, new Assemblage 23 album once again raises the bar as far as quality goes in synthpop. Can't wait to see them live. Also, new releases from C/A/T, Cervello Elettronico, Pow[d]er Pussy, Imminent, Phosgore, Noorglo, Suicide Commando, Xentrifuge and more are on rotation. I think theres a new X-Fusion out too, gotta check that out. New SITD on the way too. Heard some. SITD is the new Funker Vogt :) Speaking of new music, tonight is Progression night at City Club. DJ's Saint and Void6 play the newest tracks you haven't heard so go there and listen. I won't be able to make it, but looking forward to the playlist. In other news, going back to school in the winter semester. Not sure yet what for, other than finishing my existing degree (almost done), but looking into civil engineering. Or whatever will make the money. Sill applying for jobs. Still being called by Happy's to come back. Since I refuse to be near about 40% of there delivery area, unlikely. I'll work in a pizza place again, but not driving. In fact, driving at all anywhere drives me crazy, no matter the situation. You do something enough, it just builds up frustration to the point you don't want to do it ever again. 1000+ miles a week, most in bad driving conditions, going through 3 vehicles in one year, will do that. I should move to a cool city with a job downtown and not have to worry about having a car :) Time for dinner then get motivated and find something to do. Went in my closet earlier, and discovered these on the top shelf. An original 1978 Mego 2-XL robot and an Atari, not sure what model. There's stuff all over this place. |
